Sandra has been working with at risk youth at Osborne School
in Santa Clara County's Juvenile Detention Facility since
1994. Through her work she has received training in
gang awareness, de-escalation techniques and conflict management. She
has also received training at Santa Clara University in behavior
modification. Sandra is also an accomplished athlete
in the sports of wrestling and judo. She is the 1999
World Champion in free-style wrestling and a three time Olympian
in judo. In Judo one's goal is to control your opponent
using balance and leverage. Sandra enjoys working
with youth many areas. She not only works with the
youth at Juvenile Hall but has also worked with children
of all ages at various judo and wrestling camps. She
does her best to help them set positive goals for themselves
and realize that they have the ability to accomplish these
goals. She has escorted hundreds of adolescents to various
programs throughout the country.
