Brett M.
Brett has a fairly unique perspective in transporting, transitioning and intervention as he was transported to a therapeutic wilderness program at the age of 16. He went on to become a United States Army Airborne Ranger, Special Operator, earning a Bronze Star for Valor and a Purple Heart while in combat in 1989. After his term of service, Brett went to work for wilderness programs, residential programs, and crisis residential programs, finally founding his own therapeutic wilderness program in 1997, which was the first of such programs to also be a licensed alternative school and offered aftercare. Brett has been assisting youth and has been transporting, doing interventions as well as locating runaways since 1994. He holds a first degree black belt in Kenpo Jui Jitsu, is a PCS (Positive Control Systems) non-violent verbal/ physical intervention instructor, has his current CPR/ First Aid certification and is registered with the California Trustline to legally be able to transport to/ from and within the State of California. He does continuing education including becoming an expert on transgender issues, is a certified AriseĀ© interventionist and a certified Recovery Specialist.
He volunteers for the local TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) organization, being on call to aid Police, Fire and EMS in therapeutic intervention. He enjoys time with his partner and best friend, Laura, a dog, cat, chickens and ducks on their acreage outside of Portland, Oregon. Brett has had several FBI background checks for his various work experiences. |
