Based in Austin, Texas, I’ve made my career education, still teaching high school for almost three decades now. I worked as a juvenile probation officer for three years. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and a Master’s Degree in Special Education for the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to teaching, I have worked transporting at-risk youth since 2002. I am trained in non-violent crisis intervention, CPR and first aid. I enjoy tutoring and mentoring young adults, writing weekly film reviews, freelance writing and travel. I am the mother of one son and a grandmother of two. I have an optimistic and positive attitude and consider myself somewhat of a children and animal whisperer. |
